Search And Rescue - Incident Management Team

In a recent discussion regarding Search And Rescue in West Central and Northwest Arkansas, there has come a point in time that there should be established a Incident Management Team (SAR - IMT).

This Incident Management Team (SAR-IMT) has not been established as of this writing.

What we need to know is whom, from each Search And Rescue group, would want to take the extra amount of time to learn, train, and work together as a Multi-Agency SAR Incident Management Team.

Let me make this perfectly clear, the SAR - IMT is a search and rescue operations support group and it is not designed to take over the persons position who has jurisdictional responsibility and the established position as the Search And Rescue Incident Commander (IC) during a search event. SAR-IMT is only a Incident Management Team! Now if the person who has jurisdictional responsibility and/or is the Incident Commander would want to transfer the command to a member of the Incident Management Team Member they would have that capability, but the IMT will not come in and take over the IC position.

If you are interested in the Incident Management Team, please email your name and contact information to crawfordcountysar@gmail.com.

Franklin County SAR Meeting

Franklin County SAR has invited all members of the Crawford County SAR to come and be their special guests at their March 15th, 2007 monthly meeting.

Franklin County SAR is a very well organized group, and we need to become closer friends and neighbors and established a better working relationship with them. We can help each other in our Search And Rescue operations and training events.

Email crawfordcountysar@gmail.com if you would like to go to this March 15th meeting, and note if you would offer to transport some of our SAR Team Members to this event.

Alzheimers Workshop - Franklin County

Franklin County will host a Alzheimers Workshop on February 15th, 2007 beginning at 7:00 PM at a location to be announced.

It would be great if we, The Crawford County Search And Rescue Team, get together our group and travel to this Alzheimers Workshop. We can setup a Car Pool for this event.

We should become more aquanted with and support of our neighboring SAR Teams and this would be a great start.

If you would like to attend this free program, please email crawfordcountysar@gmail.com so that we can get our groups together. Be sure to let us know if you offer to drive your vehicle and would be interested in being involved in the groups car pool.

Posting Lost Person Photo

During the Franklin County Search And Rescue Meeting held on Thursday, January 18th, there was a question asked regarding when should you Post A Lost Person's Photo out to the general public. Posting of pictures could be anywhere that the general public frequently visits, such as but not limited to, convenience stores, etc.

What do you think? When do you think the SAR Team should Post A Lost Person's Photo?
